Microtuber production of six potato varieties as affected by temperature, sucrose and bap

Abstract

Abstract : The effect of temperature, sucrose and BAP at several levels on in vitro microtuber induction was considered in this study. The results of the present study showed that an incubation temperature of 20°C with 6% sucrose and 5 mg/I of BAP used in the induction medium were found to be the optimum. Furthermore, the performance of exotic varieties was superior to indigenous ones.
