Abstract :
Nitrate reductase activity (NRA) of leaf, root and nodules in mungbean line NM92 was estimated at different growth stages under phosphors application with or without Bradyrhizobium inoculation. NR activity was pronounced at pretlowering and flowering stages and decreased with plant age. NRA was higher in leaf as compared to root and nodules. Leaf, root and nodular NRA was found higher in inoculated plant. Interaction effect of Rhizobium inoculation and phosphorus application on NRA in leaves at different growth-stages of mungbean was insignificant. Root and nodule NRA were found highest at podfilling stage in solely inoculated and phosphorus control plants.
