GENOTYPE x SOWING DATE INTERACTION IN UPLAND COTTON
MetadataShow full item record
Stability analyses were made with six genotypes on three sowing dates for plant height (cm), monopods per plant, boll per plant, boll weight (g) and seed cotton yield per plant (g) at Cotton Research Station, BARI, Mahigonj, Rangpur. The sowing dates were significantly different. Sowing date + (genotype x sowing date) interactions were highly significant for all the characters indicating that the genotypes were reacted differently in the different sowing dates. Genotype x sowing date interactions were observed insignificant for most of the characters. But pooled deviation was significant for all the characters. The sowing of cotton upto first week of August was found better and July 21 sowing was identified the best sowing date. The genotype, B AC-49 showed the best performance for most of the characters and may be suitable for early sowing. DL-16 and Rupali were identified as stable which can be sown upto first week of August for better production.
