Abstract:
Twenty three eggplant cultivars and four wild species of Solatium were tested against bacterial wilt (Pseudomonas solanacearum Smith) in artificially inoculated nursery beds and in a naturally infested field of Citrus and Vegetable Seed Research Centre, BARI, Joydebpur. Only one wild species Solatium torvurn showed highly resistant while one cultivated variety 'Khotkhatia Long' and three wild species namely, S. mamusum, S. sisymbrifolium and S. surattense gave moderately resistant reaction against the disease.
