Genetic analysis of f2 diallel population in spring wheat under interacting cultural environments
Abstract
Abstract :
A seven-parent 172 diallcl set of spring wheat was used to study the inheritance (gene action) of different yield and its contributing characters under two contrasting cultural environments. The results of the genetic analysis showed that both additive and non-additive genetic components were responsible for governing the characters. Complete dominance was recorded only for days to 50% heading in cnvironmcnt-2 and grains spike'1 in environment-1. Unequal distributions of dominant and recessive genes were estimated in the parents for . all the characters except spikelets spike'1 in environment-2 and harvest index in environment-1. Positive and negative alleles were also present in unequal proportion among the parents for all the characters excepting days to 50% heading and plant height in environment-1 and spikelets spike'1 in environment-2.
