Efficacy of some fungicides against tikka and rust diseases of groundnut (arachis hypogaea l.)

Abstract

Abstract : Eight fungicides namely Orion (0.2%), Tiken (0.05%), Popi (0.05%), Titan (0.10%), Fungizole (0.05%), Hit (0.05%), Tilt (0.05%) and Dentol (0.2%) were tested to find out their efficacy against rust and tikka diseases of groundnut at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ishurdi, Pabna. Among the tested fungicides. Titan (0.10%) was found most effective against both the diseases when sprayed three times at an interval of 15 day starting from the first appearance of the diseases. However, Tiken (0.05%), Fungizole (0.05%) and Tilt (0.05%) were also found effective against the two diseases. Some of the tested fungicides like - Tiken, Popi, Fungizole and Tilt showed some adverse effect on plant growth (plant height) particularly on early stage. But all the fungicides significantly reduced the disease severity and increased pod yield of groundnut as compare to control.
