Abstract :
Data on five characters of 15 genotypes of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) grown at Joydebpur, Hathazari and Dumki (Patuakhali) revealed considerable influence of genotype x environment interaction for all the characters except days to maturity. The linear component of genotype x environment interaction was found significant for 100-seed weight; while significant values for non-linear component were observed in all of the characters except days to maturity and 100-seed weight. None of the genotypes showed reasonable stability on grain yield. However, the line MTD-459, Beagunkong and G-2261 may be considered suitable in poor environments and the yield of Pb-1, Malabar and G-2 may be improved through better management practices. The small seeded line Acc-1222 may be used in breeding programme to evolve lines for longer seed viability
