dc.description.abstractAbstract : The long-term daily rainfall data from BRRI Agrometeorology station under Plant Physiology Division, BRRI, Gazipur, was used to determine the different moisture treatments using percent point analysis (distribution free analysis). The treatments were applied at panicle initiation (PI) to ripening stage of BR11 and BR22 grown in puddled soil in the drums of 60 cm diameter and 45 cm height in T. Aman season in BRRI green house. Grain yield of T. Aman rice is affected on the amount and distribution of rainfall during lean period of October to November. Under such condition insensitive early maturing varieties, which can be harvested in early October, should be grown. However, BR22, a strongly photoperiod sensitive,variety, performed better than BR11, a weakly photoperiod sensitive rice variety as late T. Aman crop. Yield losses occurred due to higher percent of sterility by drought followed by less spikelet number per panicle and reduced 1000 grain weight.en_US
