dc.description.abstract | Abstract
Shoot tip explants of 2.0 cm size collected from young thuja plants proliferated 100 % and produced an average of 8.5 shootlets within 4 weeks culture on MS medium. Proliferated shoot-tips subcultured on half-strength MS medium supplemented with 2.5 mg/I I BA or 2.5 mg/I IBA and 0.5 mg/l NAA produced roots in 40 and 80 % cultures, respectively. In addition to supplements,-^ g sucrose per liter produced more roots in the plantlct. Employing the present technique an estimated of 300 plantlets could be regenerated from a single explant within 24 weeks. | en_US |
