dc.description.abstractThe experiment was conducted to study the canopy parameters by changing canopy architecture, applying chlormequat chloride and mechanically changing orientation of leaves under two seed rates of 7 and 11 million pregerminated seeds per hectare with two varieties, having contrasting plant habitus. From the experiment it was found that the number of plants, tiller and spikes per unit area, harvest index and yield significantly varied when canopy architecture was changed. Maximum yield was recorded when chlormequat chloride was used for both the eultivers. The variety Zoryan, having narrow and errect leaves was found more prominent in respect of high yield density.en_US
