dc.description.abstractTwenty eight characteristics which influence the performance of the Block supervisors serving under the Department of Agricultural Extension in Bangladesh were selected to identify the common factors. Data were collected by group interview. method from a sample of 275 Block Supervisors representing the total population of 9300. Principle component factor method by Varimax rotation was used to isolate the common factors underlying the selected characteristics. Factor analysis yielded 9 factor. The factors with their variance contribution are : Factor A: Time use and farmers responsibility - 12.2%; Factor B: Knowledge and Dominance - 11.2%; Factor C: Service length training - 7.8%; Factor D: Distance - 6.6%; Factor E: Training need - 5.9%; Factor F: Family status - 4.5%, Factor g: Supervisor relation - 4.7%, Factor H: Physique - 4.5%, Factor I: - 3.8%.en_US
