dc.description.abstractThe major focus of the study was to analyze the socio-economic characteristics of the farmers in relation to adoption of improved farm practices in Boro rice cultivation. Data were personally collected through an interview schedule frpm 146 randomly selected farmers from a population of 941 farm families of three villages in Mirzapur union. Collection of data took from July 1 to July 30,1993. Analysis of data indicates that 76 percent of the farmers had medium adoption of improved farm practices in Boro rice cultivation as compared to 24 percent having high and medium adoption. Adoption of improved farm practices in Boro rice cultivation had positive relationships with farm size, organizational participation, extension contact and cosmopoliteness of the farmers.en_US
