dc.description.abstract | A field study was conducted in Summer at IPSA, Saina Gazipur, to examine the effects of 250 and 500 ppm NAA, 200 ppm Aminofol on growth behaviour and pod yield of a photo-insensitive cultivar of labial) bean. The highest number of primary branches (5.3/plant) and that of secondary branches (22.8/plant) was obtained with 250 ppm NAA. Internode length (16.18 cm) and number of pods per plant (312) were higher at 500 ppm NAA. The highest pod yield (1.38 kg/plant) was obtained with 200 ppm Aminofol, followed by 500 ppm NAA (1.23 kg/plant) and 250 ppm NAA (1.19 kg/plant). The lowest yield (0.89 kg/plant) was observed in untreated control plants. Aminofol increased the pod yield compared to NAA without increasing the shoot dry matter yield resulting in highest harvest index (0.38) at the final harvest stage. | en_US |
