Seven coconut cultivars namely, Bangladesh green, Bangladesh red, Malaysian green, Malaysian red, Malaysian yellow, Srilanka green and Srilanka red were studied for fruit characteristics at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Rahmatpur, Barisal during 1992-93. Malaysian cultivars had maximum tender sized nut with highest water volume. Mature nut of Malaysian green was heaviest (1690.19 g) having maximum husk (624.26 g), shell (242.36 g), water (332.62 ml) and kernel (444.72 g). TSS value of both water (4.57%) and kernel (13.33%) were highest in the nuts of Srilanka green. Thickness of kernel (11.88 mm) and oil content (19.42%) were also highest in nuts of Srilanka green. Bangladeshi cultivars showed intermediate performance In respect of nut size, water and kernel contenten_US
