Foliar fertilization of nitrogen mungbean: R. fluence of rate and frequency of application
The influence of rate and frcqucncy of foliar N fertilization on the yield performance and nutrient uptake of mungbcan had bccn evaluated in a serics of experiments. Foliar applicd N generally increased sccd yield over thc untrcatcd control excepting the treatment with 20 mg N 1-1 . A concentration of 10 mg N 1-1 was most bcncficial to pod and sccd development than the higher or . lower •concentrations. Spraying N at around flowering caused significant yield incrcasc but application twice (at around flowering and at latc reproductive phase) gave significantly greater sccd yield than any singlc application. Field experiment also confirmed that foliar N at 10 mg 1-1 applied twice in thc reproductivc phase gavc greater yield advantage.
