Absract : An experiment was conducted to study character association and path coefficient analysis for yield components in TYLCV infected tomato (Solatium lycopersicum L.) in Gazipur, during 2009-10. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with three replications. For healthy plants, correlation coefficient analysis revealed significant positive correlation of yield was observed with number of fruits per plant (0.923). Path coefficient analysis revealed that number of fruits per plant showed the highest positive direct effect (0.569) on fruit yield followed by fresh root weight (0.409) and leaf chlorophyll content (0.357). Therefore, the number of fruits with higher weight should be considered in selection criteria for increasing fruit yield per plant. In Tomato yellow leaf curl infected tomato plants correlation coefficient analysis revealed significant positive correlation of yield with number of flowers per plant (0.96). Path coefficient analysis revealed that number of flowers per plant showed the highest positive direct effect (0.521) on fruit yield followed by fresh root weight (0.267), fresh shoot weight (0.240), leaf chlorophyll content (0.167), rooting depth (0.143) and branches per plant (0.127. The present study suggested that more emphasis should be given to select varieties with higher number of flowers per plant.en_US
