Abstract : The present experiment was conducted to evaluate some botanical pest management practices against pest complex of tomato in the farm of Sher-e- Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period from November 2006 to April 2007. The experiment comprises application of Neem leaf extract at 3 days interval (Tj), Neem leaf extract at 7 days interval) (T2), Neem oil at 3 days interval (T3), Neem oil at 7 days interval (T4), Garlic extract at 3 days interval (T5), Marsh Pepper extract at 3 days interval (T7), Marsh Pepper extract at 7 days interval at (T7) and an untreated control (T8). The total number of white fly per plot was minimum (22.40) in T3 while it was the maximum (145.00) in untreated control. The average leaf infestation was minimum (3.19%) in T3 while it was the maximum (15.77) in untreated control. Healthy fruit yield per hectare was the highest (64.48 tones) in T3 while it was the lowest (48.65 tones) in untreated control. The total fruit yield per hectare was the highest (66.80 tones) in T3 while it was the lowest (56.86 tones) in untreated control. In this study T3 provided the highest benefit cost ratio (2.82), which was minimum (0.06) in treatment T2. Considering all the parameters, Neem oil application at 3 days interval was the most effective among all the treatments. The results of Neem leaf extract and garlic extract application at 3 days interval against whitefly and leaf miner was also satisfactory compared to that of Neem oil applications.en_US
