Abstract : Heat tolerance study with sixteen genotypes were carried out at the Wheat Research Centre, Dinajpur during 1992-93 and 1993-94. Genetic parameters of morpho-physiological traits, grain yield and its components were studied to determine the available variability and interrelationship among the traits. Considerable genetic coefficient of variation with moderate heritability accompanied by high genetic advance were found for characters like grain yield, number of grains/ m2, grain filling rate, grain yield/ day and 1000 grain weight, Grain yield was significantly and positively correlated with biomass at final harvest, number of grains/ m2, biomass/ day, yield/ day and grain fill / day / hectare. Visual scoring of percent ground cover at Zadok's growth stage 65 might be an easy technique and worthwhile alternative to replace the tedious job of biomass taking at different growth stages.en_US
