Abstract : The experiment was conducted with eight Chinese cabbage genotypes (Brassica Campestris var.pekinensis) namely 77 M(3)-40, 77 M(2/3)-46, 77 M(3)-27, Hybrid U 82-156, Hybrid U 82-157, Hybrid U 85-202, Hybrid # 85-216 and Hybrid # 62 to asses their yield potential at the field laboratory of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies in Agriculture (IPSA) during winter and summer 1996-97. The marketable yield ranged from 60.50 to 87.69 ton per hectare in winter while it was 26.04 to 30.60 ton per hectare in summer. Among the eight genotypes 77 M(3)-27 performed well in both seasons and 77 M(3)-40 produced statistically similar yield in summer. The present investigation revealed that genotypes 77 M(3)-27 and 77 M(3)-40 were superior in respect of marketable yield which may be recommended for cultivating in Bangladesh in late summer.en_US
